2 Day POOL & Theory Referral Program

The PADI referral system gives you a variety of options to commence and complete your diving education. It is possible to start your PADI Open Water (Learn to Dive) certification with the two-day Pool and Theory Referral Program at the Pro Dive Cairns training centre or finish your Open Water certification with our PADI Three Day Ocean Referral Course.

You will spend two-days at our modern, purpose-built diver training centre learning the theory and underwater skills of diving. PADI referral paperwork will be issued at the end of day two, confirming the completion of your pool and theory training. The instructor who completes the remainder of the PADI Open Water training will require this referral paperwork.

You are strongly advised to pre-book your course as availability may be limited. You can pre-book and confirm your place on a course by booking online, emailing or calling us.

Daily accommodation transfers are included and can be booked in advance. However, if you are unsure of your accommodation details, you can contact us on arrival in Cairns.

Turtles and sharks!

An excellent diving experience! We were onboard the silverswift boat. The weather was fairly average and rainy for most of the day but the dive sites were excellent - great visibility and lots to see. Spotted white tipped sharks, a turtle, clownfish, Māori wrasse, parrot fish and loads more. We dived at Flynn’s reef and coral gardens. Great diving team and support crew, well prepared for each dive and supportive throughout. Lunch was delicious and they gave everyone assistance when unwell onboard as it was a fairly rough ride to the sites. Highly recommend pro dive as we’ve used them in the past.

The experience of a lifetime

Booked the Open water/Adventure dive course. Spent 2 days in the dive centre learning in the pool and completing theory. Spent 3 days 2 nights on the reef. What an experience. Mike was our instructor in the pool and on our first five dives on the reef including 1 night dive. Excellent knowledge of diving and a brilliant instructor throughout. Calm, cool and collected. Reassured my gf when she was slightly panicking during a mask exercise. Calmed her down and she completed the task. Our other instructor was Kevin. Kevin completed the theory with us in the class room and instructed us on our last couple of dives which were a deep dive and an underwater navigational dive. Like Mike, he was relaxed and full of knowledge but also the funniest man on the reef. Had the entire boat laughing from start to finish. A great character. The staff on board were also fantastic. Marine made us delicious food at regular intervals to keep us full of energy for our action filled days. Special mention also to Matty, Courtney, Caro and Chris. Extremely nice people and provided a great atmosphere to learn to dive. Will 100% be back to dive again with Pro dive Cairns. An experience of a lifetime. Thank you and all the best, Cathal and Elaine.

ProDive and the GBR

Signed up to dive the GBR with ProDive because they were the only service to offer a dive trip within the length of time I'd available and at a price that didn't break the bank. I wasn't sure what to expect, but after the completion of my time on the 3-day/2-night liveaboard cruise, I would recommend ProDive to any traveler! Some highlights from the trip:-Solo traveler, but made friends with other divers and staff immediately starting with hotel pick-up. -Advanced Open Water certification offered on-board & my dive buddy and I signed up immediately! Amazing price for this very expensive upgrade certification. -Delicious food. Never went hungry!-Expert instructors who don't get paid enough for the work they do. ProDive is able to keep rates low because their staff does everything -- briefs the diving location, instructs upgrading and new students, cleans the parlor area after meals & washes dishes, cleans the living areas after the cruise, operates the shuttles! -Moored on incredible reefs and saw leatherback / hawksbill / green sea turtles, multiple sharks, clownfish, giant clams, a plethora of parrotfish, moray eels, stingrays, and all of Nemos friends! I'd dive with any of the ProDive staff any day of the week, but Flo really gets a special shout-out from me. As we started to descend to complete our deep dive for AoW, I was unable to equalize and I aborted the dive. After completing the dive with the rest of the students, Flo offered to do a 1-on-1 during the next diving session in which we were able to go slow and let my ears sort themselves out. It was an incredibly safe and controlled descent and probably one of the most magical dives of the 11! She is a true lover of the sport and ambassador of the GBR. Hope you get the opportunity to learn from her as I did!
